Meet and Greet at Secondary School
Dear Parents of new Park Lane students (Years 7-12),
I hope you are all having a very pleasant summer.
As the new school term is getting closer, I would like to inform you about our 'meet and greet' session and (2) our 'welcome picnic'.
We cordially invite all new students and their parents to meet the teaching staff on Friday 31st August at 10:00am. Please come along to the main school hall at our Valdštejnská site. After a brief introduction from myself and members of the senior leadership team, you and your child(ren) will have an opportunity to tour the school and meet the teachers.
For students joining Years 8 to 12, this session will last until 11:30 and arrangements will be made for Year 10-12 students/parents to be escorted to our Klarov site.
New students joining Year 7 have a special arrangement - explained below:
At 11 o'clock all members of Year 7 (including the students who attended Year 6 at Park Lane) will begin an induction and orientation day, which ends at 3:25. Therefore our new students for Year 7 and their parents should return to the school hall at 11:00. After a brief introduction for all members of Year 7, our new pupils' parents will be free to leave but should kindly return to school to collect their child at 3:30.
Arrangements for the Year 7 orientation day are as follows:
11:00-12:00 - introductions/ Q & A and meeting new classmates.
12:00-1:00 - students will meet and spend time with their form tutors. During this time, we will issue locker keys, student planners + individual lesson timetables
1:00- 1:50 - lunch and break
1:55-2:40 - Lesson 7 (Friday timetable: English)
2:40-3:25 - Lesson 8 (Friday timetable: Czech or Czech as an additional language or project learners)
In addition to the meet and greet day, I hope to see you all at our 'Welcome Picnic'. This will begin at 7:00pm on Friday 7th September in the garden of our Valdštejnská building.
My colleagues and I look forward to welcoming you and your child to Park Lane and will do our best to ensure that your son/daughter will get off to the best possible start in his/her new school.
