What is The Early Years Foundation Stage?
The ‘Early Years Foundation Stage‘ is the British National Curriculum for children aged 0-5 and aims to support, challenge and extend children’s individual learning and development. Learning through this curriculum is exciting, fun, interesting and most importantly fosters children’s natural positive disposition and desire to learn. The curriculum consists of a range of Early Learning Goals which are reflected in the areas of learning. There are 3 prime areas of learning which help to cultivate the necessary foundations for each and every child, and there are also 4 additional (specific) areas which further build on and extend each child’s learning and development.
