Rosie Payne
Originally from Yorkshire in the north of England, I graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music in 2018 with a bachelor of music degree in Vocal studies and Opera.
Here I studied under the tutelage of the world renowned soprano Sandra Dugdale and learned about vocal mechanics, music theory and the art of performance. During my undergraduate degree I also taught with the performing arts company Stagecoach specialising in Early Years.
I then went on to study for a PGCE in teaching from the University of Huddersfield. I have recently completed a successful and rewarding NQT year teaching a Year 3 and Year 4 Class in England but as an expert in music I cannot wait for the opportunity to teach purely music at Parklane.
I believe strongly that the skills children learn from studying music including communication, collaboration, creativity and innovation help them become confident and resilient individuals. The multicultural environment provided at Parklane perfectly facilitates learning about musical context by critically listening to music from many different styles and cultures. I feel very lucky to be part of such a prestigious establishment and to be able to engage in music making throughout the school.
I am a keen traveller and have visited many countries in Asia and Oceania. I also previously lived in France. I am very much looking forward to visiting the Czech Republic and surrounding countries. I am a keen skier and enjoy getting out and about whenever I can.
